Hello and welcome to Tags English.
I want to ask you something today. Have you ever been through something really hard? Something that hurt so much you thought you could not continue? I think most of us have. And today’s story is about a girl who went through something very, very hard — and used it to change the world.
Her name was Malala. She grew up in a small town in Pakistan. From a very young age, she loved school. She loved learning. She loved reading books and asking questions. For her, school was not just a place. It was a dream. A future.
But in her town, some people did not want girls to go to school. They said girls should stay home. They said education was not for girls. And one day, when Malala was just fifteen years old, something terrible happened. She was hurt very badly because she spoke up for her right to learn.
Everyone thought her story was over. But Malala did not let it end there.
She got better. And when she was well again, she did not hide. She did not go quiet. She spoke louder. She went in front of the whole world and said, “One child, one teacher, one book, one pen — can change the world.”
And the world listened.
At seventeen years old, Malala became the youngest person to win the Nobel Peace Prize. A girl from a small town. A girl who almost lost everything. A girl who turned her pain into the most powerful voice in the room.
I think about Malala when life feels hard. When things do not go the way I want. Because she reminds me that your situation does not decide your future. You decide your future. What happens to you is not always in your hands. But what you do next — that is always your choice.
Pain can make you bitter. Or pain can make you better. Malala chose better. Every single day.
So whatever you are going through right now — a hard time at work, a difficult family situation, a dream that feels too far away — remember Malala. Remember that the hardest moments sometimes come right before the most beautiful ones.
Your pain has a purpose. Do not waste it.
